If you're planning a trip to Boracay Island in the Philippines, it's important to know the latest list of do's and don'ts implemented since the island reopened to tourists in late 26 October 2018. These guidelines will help ensure a safe and enjoyable trip while preserving the island's natural beauty and delicate ecosystem.

BORACAY AFTER REHABILITATION: IMPORTANT DO'S & DON'TS TO REMEMBER

DO'S

1. All Boracay tourists must book accommodations in DOT-accredited hotels and present their hotel reservations before entering the island.

2. Engage in responsible tourism practices such as:

  • Bring a reusable water bottle and shopping bag to avoid using single-use plastics. Dispose of waste properly in designated bins.

  • Avoid littering, stay on designated paths and trails, and do not disturb or remove plants or animals.

DON'TS

1. No smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages while on Boracay's shores.

2. Dining by the beach is strictly prohibited on the island.

3. Cooking meat over hot coals is not allowed.

4. Using kerosene lamps for fire dancing is now banned.

5. Vendors and souvenir shops operating along the beachfront are no longer allowed.
