Wow, we've finally made it to the Cachat Spring, the birthplace of Evian Water. It's amazing that people from all over the world come here to try the water straight from the source. Let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this place and the delicious taste of the water.
The Cachat spring – formerly known as the Saint Catherine Fountain, is the most famous of the many natural sources in Evian. Built in 1903, at the same time as the pump room opposite, the spring runs all year at a constant temperature of 11.6C.
It offers refreshing Evian water straight from the source, which visitors can enjoy free of charge. It's common to see tourists and locals filling up their containers to take home.
I tried Évian's Cachat Spring water and it was so refreshing! It had a really nice hint of minerals that made the flavor even better. It definitely felt like a rejuvenating experience.
2. Rue Nationale
One of the things to do in Evian for a day is to explore Rue Nationale, the lively pedestrian shopping street of Evian packed with a diverse range of shops and restaurants. It's the perfect spot for both shopping and indulging in delicious food!
3. Cachat Pump Room
Located in 19 Rue Nationale, the Cachat Pump Room used to be a pump room for the water source and now serves as an information center for mineral water.
